The Penn State Healthcare Innovation and Entrepreneurship Graduate Certificate offers an exciting opportunity for students and professionals from diverse fields — including healthcare, engineering, business, life science, and clinical practice — to gain specialized tools and inter-professional competencies necessary to lead medical innovation and healthcare transformation.
This dynamic program equips participants with the skills to become change agents capable of identifying and addressing critical healthcare challenges and unmet medical needs. Participants can explore specialized topics essential for healthcare innovation from clinical, administrative, research, product, or policy perspectives.

Courses
Graduate courses carry numbers from 500 to 699 and 800 to 899. Advanced undergraduate courses numbered between 400 and 499 may be used to meet some graduate degree requirements when taken by graduate students. Courses below the 400 level may not. A graduate student may register for or audit these courses in order to make up deficiencies or to fill in gaps in previous education but not to meet requirements for an advanced degree.

The Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Innovation and Entrepreneurship, offered by Penn State Harrisburg and the College of Medicine in conjunction with the Center for Medical Innovation (CMI), embodies the multi-faceted, multidisciplinary nature of medical innovation. The program’s key learning objectives include:
- Learning foundational innovation and entrepreneurship concepts and theories to identify current and future opportunities in healthcare.
- Understanding the significance of leading a culture of innovation in partnership with other innovators to translate life science discoveries into real-world solutions.
